Brief Story Write up

In this increasingly difficult wave of economic crisis worldwide, acquired skills plays a very big role in determining who remains afloat and who sinks. supported by Embassy of Japan in South Sudan in partnership with UNDP South Sudan, RDAA South Sudan is training 20 women in Jur River county of Western Bahr-el-Ghazel State, South Sudan in Basic Business skills and after which we will support them with startup kits to help set them on the path of economic growth and livelihood improvement.

Just to remind you, all these women are picked from among the returnees, Internally displaced people and ex-combatants that this particular project is supporting and the major objective is to create a conducive environment for peaceful co-existence and community cohesion.

Objectives of the Activity

      • To support community-led peace initiatives to prevent and resolve conflicts aimed at addressing communal tensions and conflicts, reducing tensions, preventing, and resolving conflicts between host communities and returnees/refugees/internally displaced persons.
      • To provide psychosocial support and trauma awareness to communities, including host communities and returnees/refugees/internally displaced persons, affected conflict.
      • To facilitate community economic empowerment aimed at enhancing community resilience as part of conflict prevention approach.
      • To help them improve their household income and hence livelihood
      • To teach the beneficiaries ways in which they can maintain their source of income and livelihood.
