Supported by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Rural Development Action Aid Continues to empower women in different ways. Many women actually have very good leadership skills but given the dominance of their male counter-parts, they find it very difficult to ascend into the leadership positions of their abilities

This week RDAA with funding from UNDP in partnership with UNPEACEBUILDIG Fund will be conducting a four days workshop on Strengthening Women’s Participation in Leadership at all levels in the country This is to ensure that the 35% affirmative action enshrined in South Sudan’s transitional constitution is fully represented.

Objectives of the Activity

  • To introduce women to media especially the types of media
  • To help them understand how to use the different types of media
  • To help the identify the challenges they face in ascending into leadership positions

Results/Issues discussed and outcome of the Activity

1.  A better understanding of media

2.  Identification of barriers to women ascending into leadership

3.  Suggestion of possible solutions to the identified barriers

4. Understanding the need of working together

  1. Participants were able to identify the different barriers to women’s participation on leadership
  2. Participants suggested solutions to the barriers identified
  3. Participants suggested possible actions points as a measure to overcome the barriers.
