Brief Story Write up

With funding from United Nations Peace building fund in partnership with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Rural Development Action Aid Continues to play a major role in struggle to attaining lasting peace in South Sudan. We are implementing a project entitle : Community Awarenese on transitional Justice Mechanisms in South Sudan in Raja County, Western Bahr-el-Ghazel State which is targeting over 650 women from three different payams namely; Deimzubeir, Boro-medina and Raja Center.

This project looks to creating awareness on how women who are the most affected people by conflict can get Justice with putting them selves in more danger for the lose of their loved ones and property.

Objectives of the Activity

      • To empower 250 Victims survivors in Raja County to recover from different forms of abuse and by supporting their transition and reintegration into civilian life through trauma healing, psychosocial and other assistance and support,
      • Sensitize local stakeholders on stigmatization (security forces, civil society, and communities) to support victims of Human Right Abuse and work towards true reconciliation
      • Mitigation of violence as well as organize various and tailored dialogues for only survivors of conflict-related sexual violence, children born out of rape, conflict-related disability,  internally displaced people (IDPs), returnees and ex-combatants on truth-telling.
      • To participating in reconciliation and healing and seeking compensation and reparations

Results/Issues discussed and outcome of the Activity

Results.

    1. Identification, mobilization and orientation of 250 victims of human Right abuse in Raja County strengthened.
    2.  At least 5 Victim Support Groups (VSG) for 120 beneficiaries are established and operationalized in different areas
    3. 250 survivors of conflict related sexual violence, children born out of rape, conflict related disability, internally displaced people, returnees and ex-combatants in Raja Center benefited from victim-centric tailored dialogues
    4. 1000000 people in Raja County of Western Barh El Ghazal State are reached through community campaigns to create awareness of the CTRH, CRA and truth-telling, reconciliation, healing, compensation and reparations.
