Brief Story Write up

The project is designed to support 14 primary schools in total and of the 14 schools, 4 have been granted Temporary Learning Shelters (TLSs) with 2 in Maridi County and 2 in Tambura County creating 4 classrooms for each school. Among the schools that have been granted TLSs is Our Lady of Fatima Primary school in Maridi County, Western Equatoria State, South Sudan.

So on 3rd September 2023, we started constructing the TLSs for Our Lady of Fatima Nursery and primary school which will accommodate four classes two per TLS. After finishing here we shall proceed to St. Lucy Primary school in Mambe under Maridi County and then the other schools in Tambura County will come after.

Objectives of the Activity

To improve learning environment for the pupils and teachers
To stimulate the increase in enrollment of pupils especially returnees and displaced children
To create and opportunity for the returnees and displaced children to attain education
To give the young generation a chance for a brighter future

Expected Results

Increased enrollment of returnees and displaced pupils
Improved academic performance of pupils
To foster peaceful co-existence between the children from different ethinicities
Improvement of the learning environment
Transformation of the communities mind-set in regards to development and peaceful co-existence
